Whenever I hear a debut album of merit such as this is, more often than not the first thing the cautious skeptic that resides within me quite naturally wonders is "but can she do it again?" I had that feeling with Ricki Lee Jones. I had that feeling with Margo Price as well and, in both cases their follow up took them to that next level. So much of today's music is crap--we've hear it all before--but that feeling did not cross my mind as each of these eight cuts came with so much promise I will anxiously look forward to her sophomore time around... thanks for the heads up on this one.
